I was a bit worried the lighter colors would look cheap, but the Royal set has a sophisticated, rich tone that photographs even better. The PBT texture feels wonderfully matte and non-slip under my fingers during long typing sessions.
The moment I dropped these on my board, the smooth matte finish of the PBT felt noticeably more premium than my old ABS set. The sculpted row profile makes typing much more natural, and the dye-sub legends are crisp with zero bleed. Only wish the caps lock had a small light window, but the color scheme is so vibrant I’m okay with it.
Finally, a keycap set that actually covers my 65% layout without missing the weird right shift key. The texture is noticeably grippier than my old ABS set, which helps my fingers stay put during long typing sessions.
The deep red color on these Royal keycaps is much richer in person than the photos showed, and I love how the PBT material doesn't get shiny after a week of typing. They fit perfectly on my 75% board, no issues with the spacebar stabilizers or anything.
The cherry profile feels way more natural under my fingers than the OEM ones I was using, and the royal blue color is exactly as vibrant as the photos. The double-shot legends are crisp, with no thin spots or warping on any of the larger keys.
I was worried about the thickness of PBT keycaps, but these feel incredibly solid and the texture has a nice matte finish that doesn’t show fingerprints. The cherry profile makes a huge difference for my tenkeyless board – typing feels more natural and less fatiguing after a few hours of work.
